SATS Exams

Overview
The 'basic' school curriculum includes the national curriculum.
The National curriculum is a set of subjects and standards used by primary and secondary schools so children learn the same things. It covers what subjects are taught and the standards children should reach in each subject.
The National Curriculum is organised into blocks of years called 'Key Stages.' At the end of each key stage, the teacher will formally assess each child's performance.

From 2016, KS2 national curriculum test outcomes will no longer be reported using levels. Scaled scores will be used instead. There will only be one set of tests of each subject. The tests will include a small number of questions designed to assess the most able pupils so separate tests, such as the previous Level 6 tests, are no longer required.
